ART 105: INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING, COLOR AND 2D DESIGN

Art 105 was a course designed to introduce students to the basic methods and materials commonly used in 2D arts projects. The emphasis was on drawing and painting concepts and techniques including line, value, texture, form, composition, perspective, color theory, and basic design principles. Projects were a combination of short exercises and studies, as well as extended comprehensive compositions.
Students executed a variety of technical, compositional and observational drawing projects in graphite pencil, conte crayon. They were also introduced to basic color theory and terminology, and then worked on a variety of color mixing, compositional, technical and content/subject-driven assignments in collage, acrylic paint, and ink.
