2003
When someone invites you to go live in a castle on the French Riviera for two months, free of charge, French food included, you don’t say no. FYI.
In early 2003, I was one of the 9 artists-in-residence at the Chateau de La Napoule, on the Cote d’Azur. Freezing cold for the first month, yes, but insanely beautiful and ridiculously inspiring, with great camaraderie and dramatic comedy among the residents, and ample opportunity to explore the south of France. The Clam came and visited, too, which only added to the mischief and mayhem.
